This doll was created by artist Bill Hanson for The Ashton-Drake Galleries. It belongs to The Language of Wedding Flowers collection. The original Ashton-Drake hanging tag is still attached. The tag identifies both the collection and the doll's title, "Calla Lilies."
The doll has a porcelain head and shoulder plate, hands and lower legs. The body is made of soft cloth. She wears pearl-style drop earrings, a gold-coloured wedding ring and white bridal shoes. Layered petticoats give the skirt beautiful volume beneath the satin gown.
On the back, beneath the dress, the doll bears the facsimile signature of the artist who created the design, Bill Hanson, along with a hand-numbered edition number, confirming its individually numbered limited-edition status.
