An elegant and highly collectible vintage doll by Marín Chiclana, representing an aristocratic lady of the 18th century Versailles court.
This piece belongs to the brand’s distinctive historical series, created around figures, costumes and periods from European history. Unlike the traditional regional and flamenco dolls for which Marín Chiclana is best known, these historical figures form a much less commonly found part of the company’s production.
The doll is dressed in an elaborate period gown in soft ivory and pale blue tones, woven with metallic gold threads and finished with decorative gold trims. The voluminous skirt, structured sleeves and layered front panel recreate the opulent silhouette associated with 18th-century court fashion. She holds a small decorative fan, while gold-tone jewellery adds further detail to the costume.
Her elaborate powdered-style hairstyle is arranged in curls and long side sections and decorated with a vivid blue accent and a large spray of pale feathers, completing the theatrical Versailles-inspired appearance.
Presented on its original wooden base with an engraved plaque reading “Versalles Siglo XVIII”, the doll was conceived as a decorative historical figure and retains a strong visual presence from every angle.
