An elegant and rare historical doll by renowned doll maker Marin Chiclana, representing Infanta María Teresa, a Spanish princess of the 17th century.
This doll belongs to the historical Selección Marín series, dedicated to historical characters and the fashions of their time. The doll retains its original manufacturer's tag, which includes information about 17th-century Spanish fashion.
The doll wears a magnificent burgundy velvet gown with voluminous metallic gold sleeves, elaborate gold and silver braid, decorative chains and a cross pendant. A large white lace ruff frames her face, while her carefully arranged curls and gold-coloured hair ornaments complete the royal costume. Beneath the gown are white knitted stockings, lace underskirts and delicate white heeled shoes with decorative metal ornaments.
Presented on its original wooden display base with an engraved plaque “Infanta Mª Teresa Siglo XVII”, the doll retains its original Selección Marín tag with historical costume information in Spanish, French and English.
