An exceptionally rare, large porcelain historical doll by renowned Spanish doll maker Marin Chiclana, established in 1928.
The model Isabel de Inglaterra – Siglo XVI represents Queen Elizabeth I of England, one of the most famous monarchs of the 16th century.
This remarkable doll belongs to the prestigious Selección Marin historical series and is distinguished by its impressive size, porcelain construction and exceptionally elaborate royal costume.
She wears a magnificent dusty blue gown with a woven floral pattern, complemented by a voluminous black velvet overdress with gold trimmings. Her elaborate hairstyle is crowned with a jewelled tiara decorated with green stones and pearls. A high lace collar, long transparent veil, pearl jewellery and richly decorated feather fan complete the royal costume.
The attention to detail extends beneath the gown, where the doll retains her layered underskirts, lace-trimmed stockings and miniature heeled shoes.
Presented on her original wooden display base with the engraved plaque "Isabel de Inglaterra – Siglo XVI".
