A rare historical doll from the Selección Marin series by Marin Chiclana, representing Ana de Austria (1549–1580), Queen of Spain and wife of King Philip II.
The doll wears a magnificent burgundy velvet gown with a fitted bodice, a full skirt and gold trim. The front panel and voluminous sleeves feature a beautiful floral fabric in silver tones with red, blue and green details. A white lace ruff collar, pearl decorations and a gold chain belt complete the costume.
Her tall burgundy hat, decorated with white feathers, gives the doll an especially elegant appearance and reflects the fashion of the period.
The doll stands on its original wooden display base with a brass plaque engraved “Ana de Austria Siglo XVI”.
She retains her original Selección Marin booklet, which includes information about 16th-century Spanish fashion in several languages.
