A richly modelled majolica plate featuring two birds among grapevines, rendered in vivid turquoise glaze with hand-applied colour. The relief is finely detailed, with four clusters of grapes and expressive foliage, typical of turn-of-the-century decorative ceramics.
This example corresponds to Zell am Harmersbach model no. 230, known both with and without factory marks. Unmarked example corresponding to Zell am Harmersbach model 230, identifiable by the characteristic moulded design with four grape clusters. Hand-applied glaze results in slight variations in colour between examples.
A highly decorative piece, ideal for wall display or as part of a curated ceramic collection.
